This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Full-Time Marketing Special Project Coordinator who will be all-in on our mission and who will serve as a primary coordinator of assigned projects in the Amarillo College (AC) Communications and Marketing Department. The position will assist in developing and implementing marketing and communications objectives and tactics in advancing the mission and brand of Amarillo College.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Required: Some College

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Two (2) years of communications, marketing and/or event planning experience.

Preferred: Five (5) communications, marketing and/or event planning experience.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a liaison between the Communications and Marketing (C&M) Department and other internal and external partners.
  • Collaborate with partners to assist in creating and refining special events, programs, experiences, materials, and communications.
  • Organize and coordinate project details, monitor progress, and perform support tasks with timely completion.
  • Assist in planning in-person and virtual College events.
  • Develop, monitor, and complete multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Work in tandem with other C&M team members who specialize in graphic design, public relations, content creation, etc.
  • Assist with publicity and publication assignments.
  • Work with print, web, blog, email, and social media marketing.
  • Work with external vendors on projects.
  • Deliver campaigns and projects on time and within budget.
  • Assist in the maintenance and improvement of key C&M processes and initiatives—ensuring they align with AC’s strategic plan, mission, and brand.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to Work within C&M best-practices, policies, regulations, and brand standards.
  • Organizational skills and timely attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Innovative and creative.
  • Excellent investigator, researcher, and problem solver skills.
  • Ability to turn concepts and ideas into material assets.
  • General knowledge of traditional media, digital media, and SEO—coupled with an interest in current media trends.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, proof-reading, and detail analysis.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well with many different teams.
  • Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Ability to be a self-starter who works with little supervision—yet is a team player within the C&M department.
  • Work experience in the field of Higher Education a plus.
  • Knowledge of CRM (customer relationship management) technology a plus.

Salary: Amarillo College - Salary Schedules (actx.edu), Pay grade 12 (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.

Work Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary).

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, Business Objects, and various other educational applications.) Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
