Requirements

We are seeking a Logistics Supervisor to join our vibrant team and help us spread the joy of gardening! If you have relevant experience and are passionate about sustainable living and making a difference, we would love to have you on our team!

  • Track and trace all ocean containers from China to the USA, such as departure, arrival, and transshipment with use of transportation management systems to obtain ETAs.
  • Work closely with drayage carriers to arrange container pickup from ports and transport to final destinations or warehouses by coordination of drayage trucking services to ensure timely pickup of containers after customs clearance to avoid demurrage or detention fees.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Chinese suppliers, U.S. receiving agents, and carriers, providing clear communication in both Chinese and English.
  • Communicate with Chinese-speaking suppliers and agents to gather shipping details and confirm booking or scheduling information.
  • Ensure all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and certifications, are complete and compliant with U.S. import regulations.
  • Handle any issues with container availability, such as holds, port congestion, or unassigned appointments, to minimize delays.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential shipment issues such as vessel delays, port congestion, customs holds, or missed drayage appointments.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, or monthly reports on container tracking status, drayage performance, transit times, and any exceptions or delays.
  • Manage client expectations by providing real-time updates on transit times and delivery appointments.
  • Ensure that all shipments comply with international shipping regulations and U.S. import laws, by overseeing submission of custom entries, ISF filings, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Follow up with Broker regarding the HTS code for each product 
  • Comply with Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fluent in both Chinese and English (written and verbal).
  • Prior experience in ocean freight shipping, drayage coordination, and container tracking.
  • Proficient in TMS platforms, shipping line systems, port terminal systems, and customs clearance software.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues related to ocean freight and drayage services.
  • Strong multitasking and time management abilities to handle a high volume of shipments and drayage arrangements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of key U.S. port operations (e.g., Long Beach, Savannah) and drayage logistics.
  • Ability to handle client inquiries and provide clear, timely communication.
  • Familiarity with managing detention and demurrage charges.

Physical Demands:

This position primarily involves working at a desk and operating a computer for prolonged periods with moderate walking and standing.

Job Location and Work Schedule:

  • This is a full-time, on-site position based out of Tomball, TX.
  • 13808 Boudreaux Road, Bldg. #2, Tomball, TX 77377.
  • Monday through Friday.
  • 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Lunch break 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
