Unimacts is seeking a Logistics Manager to bolster our operations in Conroe, TX. Our team members are versatile "industrial business athletes." In this role, you'll not only guide but also actively engage in enhancing our U.S. plant and local supply chain.
The Logistics Manager holds the reins for comprehensive supply chain management, from storage to distribution. You'll coordinate the full order cycle, aligning it with business development and customer satisfaction goals. In this role close collaboration with the Quality department is critical.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and oversee logistics, warehousing, transport, and customer services.
- Streamline the complete order cycle for optimal efficiency.
- Build and sustain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers.
- Monitor key metrics like stock levels, delivery timelines, and transport costs.
- Manage warehouse operations, inventory, and shipment planning.
- Handle problems and complaints proactively.
- Lead and train warehouse staff for peak performance.
- Achieve targets related to cost, productivity, accuracy, and timing.
- Utilize metrics to identify performance gaps and implement improvements.
- Adhere to legal standards, regulations, and ISO requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- At least five years in a managerial role within logistics.
- Experience in the Steel Tube mill industry is an asset.
- Hands-on experience in logistics software.
- Previous work with ERP systems; MS Dynamics 365 F&O is a plus.
- Solid analytical and organizational abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience preferred.
- Six Sigma certification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with a quality control system like ISO9001 is desired.
- Proven leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Quality Management software.
- Clear communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish is a bonus.
- Prompt problem-solving and a proactive approach to minimize disruptions.
