Local Food Outreach and Partnerships Manager

Job Summary

The Common Market is seeking a Local Food Outreach and Partnerships Manager to join our team. As a nonprofit local food distributor, our mission is to connect food from family farms to wholesale markets while making local food accessible to our communities and the organizations that serve them. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with schools, hospitals, community organizations and other institutions to promote and increase the demand for local food.

As the Local Food Outreach and Partnerships Manager, you will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to identify potential partnerships and collaborations. You will develop and implement outreach strategies and initiatives to educate and engage the community about the benefits of locally sourced food. You will also be responsible for coordinating events, workshops, and promotional activities to drive awareness and sales of local food products. This role requires a strong passion for sustainable agriculture, community engagement, and a drive to make a positive impact on the food system.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in community outreach, partnerships, or related roles
• Strong knowledge and understanding of local and sustainable food systems
• Proven track record of developing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations and institutions
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to plan and execute events and promotional activities
• Passion for working with diverse communities and promoting food access and equity
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as agriculture, food systems, or marketing
• Must be willing to work at least 1 day per week from our Houston office
