Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about chocolate, eager to learn, and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Assistant at Hijita.com, you will play a crucial role in supporting our production team and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the production of chocolate bars, drinking chocolate, and other confections according to established recipes and procedures.
• Prepare ingredients, including measuring, chopping, and tempering chocolate, as directed by the Head Chocolatier.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist in inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and organizing ingredients and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste.
• Collaborate with team members to fulfill orders and meet production deadlines.
• Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the management team.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred, but not required.
• Passion for chocolate and a desire to learn about the bean-to-bar chocolate-making process.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
