General Purpose of Job:
As a Warehouse Team Member, your responsibility will be to help us keep our warehouse running smoothly. This includes driving a forklift, loading and unloading trucks, and keeping the warehouse clean. You will also need to communicate with drivers, potential customers, and our operations team. Occasionally, you may also have the opportunity to drive our small box truck to make local deliveries or help a CDL driver on a local route. This role is meant to develop someone who wishes to obtain their CDL-A license.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following – other duties may be assigned:
- Team Member who reinforces Jake’s mission, vision and core values at all times while ensuring that the company’s loading activities run safely, efficiently and profitably.
- Requires routine lifting/moving of up to 65 pounds, requires occasional lifting heavier amounts.
- Driving a Forklift: You will safely operate a forklift to move products around the warehouse. We will provide you with training to make sure you can do this job safely.
- Loading and Unloading: You will help load and unload trucks with food products. We need you to be careful and make sure the right products are going in and out.
- Keeping the Warehouse Clean: You will help us keep the warehouse organized and clean. This means putting products in the right places and making sure everything is tidy. You will also help with counting the inventory to make sure we have the right number of products.
- Taking Care of Equipment: You will be responsible for taking care of the forklift and other equipment in the warehouse. If you notice any problems or issues, you need to let your supervisor know.
- Communicating with Others: You will talk to the drivers, potential customers, and other people in the company. It's important to be polite and professional when you speak to them. You will also work together with your team members to make sure everything runs smoothly.
- Following Safety Rules: We want you to work safely and follow all the safety rules we have in place. This is important to keep you and others safe. We also have rules about how we handle food, and you need to follow those too.
- Treat all products you touch with respect.
- Report all spills, breakage, and damage of product to a supervisor.
- Complete “Equipment Safety Checklist” before starting job duties.
- Act as a back-up to other warehouse functions as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned by the management team.
Requirements

- Valid Class C Driver's License
- Able to pass a background check and obtain airport clearance.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as labels, work instructions, and reports.
- Ability to speak and communicate well with team members.
- Ability to hear commands from picking system and verbally respond to it.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Job Attributes:
- Ability to safely operate a motorized pallet jack.
- Attention to accuracy and detail; must be able to accurately keep records and have a high level of organizational skills.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Preferred Stand-up Forklift certification.

- Ability to lift 100 pounds with proper lifting techniques.
