prosource.it is a global IT Managed Service provider working with Medium to Enterprise level, global clients and is looking for IT Desktop Support Technician(s) to assist in a short-term cutover project. The project is forecasted to run for 4-8 weeks, will offer successful candidates an opportunity to work with a major oil and gas organization, as well as experience in the fast-paced environment of IT M&A.

ENGAGMENT:
1099 (contractor) position
Forecasted to last 4-8 weeks

Work to be performed onsite, no hybrid or remote opportunities
$27-$47 per hour depending on experience
- Minimum of 40 hours per week
OVERVIEW:
We are looking to hire a skilled IT Desktop Support Engineer(s) to support an IT cutover project for one of our major oil and gas customers. Successful candidates will form a team that support all IT desktop activities related to a company de-merger. The successful candidate will be expected to join the team onsite at the downtown Houston office. This is not a remote or hybrid role. For those who are interested in a travel, there are opportunities to work on other sites within L48. All travel and subsistence will be company paid.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
De-brand laptops / desktops
- Following a predefined process
Diagnose and resolve IT incidents. Some examples include:
- Printer related issues
- Connectivity
- Software related issues
- Operating system
- Screen / monitor configuration
Installation of peripheral components
AV/VC configuration and problem resolution
Installation of software packages and minor remediation
Escalation to appropriate party where appropriate
- Ownership of issue
Requirements
An effective Desktop Support Specialist must be great at communicating with customers in person and over the phone. They should also empathy, patience, and skill to understand and resolve the customer’s problem.
Customer service is a key component of success. As is critical thinking, and strong problem-solving abilities.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
1-5+ years of IT Desktop Support experience
BSc in Computer Science or relevant field
Strong communications skills
Highly customer focused
Highly motivated, self-reliant, problem solver
Enthusiastic with a questioning and challenging attitude
Strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to make rational decisions under pressure
Proven ability to work within a team
