Direct Counsel is seeking an Insurance Regulatory Associate to join a top Public Policy and Regulation practice group at a prestigious law firm. This position is available in the following office locations: Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa, and West Palm Beach. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment, supporting high-profile clients across a range of regulatory matters within the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Research & Documentation: Conduct thorough legal research, preparing written documents such as legal memorandums, opinion letters, and regulatory filings to support clients’ compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Communication: Maintain regular communication with regulators, attend hearings, and manage other interactions to ensure compliance and proactive engagement with regulatory bodies.
- Document Analysis & Drafting: Review, analyze, and draft insurance-related contracts, agreements, and other complex legal documents, advising clients on compliance and regulatory considerations.
- Case & Client Management: Manage multiple cases and assist clients through regulatory processes and any necessary filings, offering solutions and advice to mitigate legal risks.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior attorneys and the broader team to develop regulatory strategies and respond to clients’ needs efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications
- Education & Licensure: JD from an accredited law school, with active Bar admission and good standing in Florida or Texas.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in insurance regulatory law within a law firm or similar environment.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and adept in multitasking. Familiarity with insurance regulations and procedures specific to Florida and Texas is preferred.
