Full Job Description

At Yoakum Community Hospital, we are seeking a Housekeeper to join our team on a PRN (as needed) basis. Our hospital, which has been providing healthcare services since 1922, is a 23-bed critical access facility managed by the Community Hospital Corporation. With our commitment to delivering comprehensive healthcare with compassion and respect, our dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and staff provide the highest standard of care to our community. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and aseptic environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. You will be responsible for cleaning patient areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing bathrooms and showers, and emptying and cleaning trash cans. Additionally, you will be assigned to sweep and maintain cleanliness at hospital entrances, pick up litter, and empty trash cans. It is essential to keep utility and storage rooms orderly, distribute laundered articles and linens, disinfect areas, and perform other cleaning tasks as needed. You will work in accordance with established safety guidelines and report any unusual problems or faulty equipment to the Director. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role. You must be available on a PRN basis, with the ability to work day shifts, some weekends, holidays, and take call as required. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain aseptic standards are crucial. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude are also essential. Additionally, you must comply with all hospital policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook and adhere to all State and Federal statutory and regulatory guidelines.
