Full Job Description

Are you passionate about maintaining a clean and healthy environment? We are looking for a Full-time Housekeeper to join our team at Yoakum Community Hospital. As a Housekeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitary environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. At Yoakum Community Hospital, we have been providing compassionate healthcare since 1922. Our 23-bed critical access hospital is managed by Community Hospital Corporation and is dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services with compassion, dignity, and respect. In this role, some of your key responsibilities will include: - Cleaning patient areas daily, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing bathrooms and showers, and emptying and cleaning trash cans. - Sweeping and maintaining cleanliness at hospital entrances, picking up litter, and emptying trash cans. - Keeping utility and storage rooms in an orderly condition. - Distributing laundered articles and linens. - Disinfecting areas by scrubbing and spraying. - Dust mopping and wet mopping tile floor hallways, waiting rooms, offices, and entrances daily. - Emptying wastebaskets and relining them with plastic bags. - Cleaning rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture. - Dusting furniture and polishing metalwork. - Wiping walls, woodwork, windows, doors, and window sills, using a ladder as necessary. - Transporting trash and waste to the disposal area. - Replenishing bathroom supplies. - Using detergents, germicides, and other chemical cleaners to prepare labels and maintain cleanliness. - Reporting any unusual problems and faulty equipment to the Director. - Replenishing work cart supplies as needed. - Disinfecting all cleaning equipment at the end of each day. - Assisting in moving furniture and equipment as directed. - Taking rotating call as assigned. To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: - Full-time availability. - Previous experience in a housekeeping or similar role is preferred. - Ability to work day shifts, and flexibility to work on some weekends, holidays, and take call as required. - Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. - Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain aseptic standards. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - A strong work ethic and a positive attitude. - Ability to abide by the hospital policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook. - Compliance with all State and Federal statutory and regulatory guidelines. Requirements
