Position Description
Gourmet Ranch is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician responsible for verifying the quality and food safety of various meat and poultry products. Ideal candidate has attention to detail, ability to speak up and correct issues as they arise, verbal communication skills, accountable to work scheduled hours. This role requires standing and walking in cold environments while filling out HACCP and SOP paperwork to fulfill USDA and Gourmet Ranch requirements.
Position Responsibilities
· This position is responsible for performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems, documenting and calculating results accurately, taking corrective action when necessary and reporting results to management.
· Monitor HACCP and SOP Program requirements and inspection/audit procedures to ensure product compliance via regulatory requirements and Gourmet Ranch requirements.
· Any additional assignments requested.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Job Attributes
· Proficient with Microsoft office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI
Language Skills:
· Well-developed communication (verbal and written) and listening skills.
· Ability to speak and communicate well with customers, vendors, and team members.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, and software manuals.
· Bilingual in English and Spanish is desired.
Mathematical Skills:
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Understanding and proficient with complex formulas to create in depth spreadsheets within Microsoft Excel
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish)
· Must have verbal and written communication skills
· Special Skill: Able to fill out paper and electronic QA documents.
· Physical Requirements: Standing for long periods of time, heavy lifting (40lbs), and working in cold conditions (35-40 degrees F).
· Education: High school education preferred
· Experience: 1 year in the Fresh Meats industry or other QA experience preferred, but not required.
· Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with shared responsibilities.
· Self-starter and self-motivated
Work Shift:
· 2nd shift (start at 1:00 PM)-must have flexibility to work till the end of production day, which will vary.
