Full Job Description

Steri-Tek is a company which is dedicated to providing high-quality sterilization services and superior customer service to industries which impact our families and the world.  We are looking to grow our Senior Leadership team with this newly created, mission-critical position for our facility located at 1206 N. Stemmons Fwy., Lewisville, TX 75067.

Here’s what you will bring to the team in this General Manager role:

  • Through coordination with the facility Operations Manager, execute production schedules based on sales requirements and facility/line capacity.
  • Represent the company in a positive, professional and enthusiastic manner, engaging with customers directly on matters of pricing, performance, service and compliance.
  • Mentor employees to “Do the right thing” for our customers (internal and external) at all times.
  • Analyze current and future capacities and implementation of improvements and expansions to support growth.
  • Develop operational and capital forecasts.
  • Monitor changing costs to ensure sufficient cost-reduction activities are in place and that product pricing is set appropriately.
  • Through coordination and planning with the facility Operations Manager: provide on-the-job training, on-going standard work audits, and continuous re-enforcement of work practices to ensure the work process is controlled.
  • Continuously coach employees on how to understand and identify safety hazards.
  • Develop a culture where employees actively participate in addressing unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Empower employees to view quality as a key pillar of our success.
  • Verify quality is controlled by supporting quality audits and utilizing errors as coaching opportunities.
  • Foster a team culture of continuous improvement by ensuring open communication, empowerment, and idea generation and realization at all levels in the facility.
  • Solve problems daily through structured problem solving by working together with the engineering group, maintenance, and the staff.
  • Ensure everyone has an equal voice and problems are addressed in the right priority according to their criticality - QRQC process ownership.
  • Train employees on problem-solving and engage them on issues to provide mentoring opportunities on how to; define the problem, identify root causes, propose solutions, take action, and measure the impact.
  • Determine facility policies consistent, and in concert, with corporate policies and direct and supervise the application of such to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Coordinate and escalate issues with supporting departments such as Human Resources, Quality, Sales, IT and Finance.

 


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, eight to ten years of Operational experience or equivalent combination of both is required.
  • Thorough understanding of operational/production environments.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. 
  • Excellent computer skills required: Microsoft Office - Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma concepts and/or methodologies strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite is a plus.
  • Operational experience in medical device, biologics or pharmaceutical industries is preferred.
