Full Job Description

Dynamic training and media company is seeking a talented and multi-dimensional individual for a 2-month contract role focused on creating instructional materials for end users who will be training on a new software program. The role involves writing content for and designing the materials that will be utilized in training including user guides with defined steps, and functional job aids.  

The ideal candidate will collaborate with the content development team to document the new software’s functionality accurately and effectively utilizing Microsoft Word.  This role requires the ability to adapt and execute tasks efficiently to assist our content development team in turning around assets quickly to meet strict deadlines. This position is an excellent opportunity for a talented content professional to contribute to our team's success by enhancing our educational materials and showcasing your expertise in content documentation.

  • Local to Austin, Texas and can meet in person as needed during the length of your contract. 

 

What you will do:  

  • Capture screenshots and screencasts of specific functionality within a training solution.  
  • Develop engaging training materials that capture the trainee’s learning needs.   
  • Translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly language.   
  • Design and format training materials such as training manuals and job aids.   
  • Follow a predetermined set of functional design expectations.  
  • Design content incorporating typography, videography, photography, illustrative and graphic elements.  
  • Collaborate with a team member to receive feedback and make revisions to us.  
  • Utilizing Microsoft Word.  
  • Participate in weekly and or daily check-in meetings.  
  • Meet predetermined deadlines.  

 

Qualifications:   

  • Experience using Windows 10 operating system and software.   
  • Proficient with design tools such as Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially advanced formatting and managing long documents in Word and creating visual designs for PPT presentations.   
  • Be able to obtain an FBI Criminal Justice Information System clearance and maintain clearance for project duration.  

    

Other Desired Qualifications:   

  • Relevant Associates/bachelor's degree, or certification or equivalent work experience in a design, communications capacity.   
  • Experience working with software developers and data analysts.   
  • Experience with government projects.   
  • Experience with CRM solutions such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
