Civilitude is a part of the Hexah group of companies, and this role will be supporting multiple entities in the group. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will support the efficient operation of the accounting department by preparing and maintaining records to track income and expenses. In addition, you will assist the HR department with administrative tasks, where needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain the general ledgers and ensure the accuracy of coded transactions.
- Verify deposits and ensure customer and other receipts are booked timely.
- Reconcile checking, savings, loan, and other accounts monthly.
- Review and approve time sheets and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain accounts payable records including:
- reviewing, coding, and approving bills
- resolving vendor account issues
- reconciling accounts to vendor statements
- filing appropriate documents
- Coordinate with accounts receivable and help where needed.
- Assist with preparing and processing payroll and prepare any HR reporting needed.
- Help with benefit administration and annual renewals.
- Monitor assigned emails received to the accounting department and respond appropriately.
- Assist with other accounting data entry, analysis or reporting tasks as needed.
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures for assigned duties.
- Other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Accounting degree or 3-5 years of equivalent work experience, or a combination thereof
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Honesty, integrity, dependability.
- Willing to take ownership of tasks and commit to high quality results.
- Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.
- Customer service skills, including professional writing and verbal communication.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite or similar software.
- Proficient with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
