Full Job Description

Key tasks and responsibilities

·         Perform monthly accounting close for assigned entities by recording journal entries and other relevant accounting analysis to ensure proper treatment of business transactions;

·         Record bank transactions, accruals, depreciation, intercompany activity, prepayments, tax accruals and payments;

·         Verify accuracy, code and set up for approval vendor invoices for assigned entities;

·         Reconcile bank accounts monthly, other balance sheet accounts quarterly;

·         Prepare and record intercompany invoices for timewriting activity and other cost recharges between affiliated entities, ensure their timely settlement;

·         Ensure withholding taxes pertaining to international intercompany rebills are compliant with US tax laws;

·         Review and ensure completeness of timewriting activity from the US management company to other affiliated entities, assist employees and contractors with timewriting related questions;

·         Review, code and process employee and contractor business expense claims and ensure timely reimbursements;

·         Maintain accounting procedures, processes and make improvements as necessary;

 

The role is based in Houston and requires interface with operations and support organizations located in Houston, Gabon, Brazil, and other locations across the organization. Travel may be required to ensure efficient coordination with other locations.

Requirements

Qualification requirements

Education

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

Experience

·         2 years of accounting experience

·         Previous experience from a multinational company is desirable

·         International experience a plus

Interpersonal skills

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate across organizational boundaries;

·         Team player, willingness to do what it takes to support business and finance organization goals;

·         Solid organizational and analytical skills, as well as attention to detail;

·         Able to multi-task and reprioritize work as needed

Knowledge

·         IFRS

·         Proficient in MS Excel, Word

·         ERP systems
