The Role:
Climate Robotics is seeking ambitious and skilled Electro-Mechanical Technicians to join our trailblazing team. In this multifaceted role, you'll use your expertise to help develop cutting-edge pyrolysis systems. Prepare to tackle hands-on challenges that will push your technical abilities to new heights while working on pioneering projects that drive real impact.
What You'll Do:
- Dive into the exciting world of pyrolysis system assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization
- Collaborate with engineers to enhance design and operational efficiency
- Ensure quality through meticulous inspections of parts and assemblies
- Conduct routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance with precision
- Hit the road when needed, traveling to customer sites for expert support
- Master inventory management, keeping our well-oiled machine running smoothly
- Operate heavy machinery like forklifts, telehandlers, and cranes with skill and safety
What You'll Bring:
- A wealth of hands-on technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- The ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Mastery of wiring techniques, electrical theory, and safety practices
- Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic component selection, installation, and maintenance
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for problem-solving
- The drive to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a close-knit team
- A commitment to maintaining an organized and clean work environment
- Experience with heavy machinery (a definite plus!)
Requirements
Mechanical Skills:
- Lay out, measure, mark, and set up components for assembly or installation.
- Cut, shape, drill, and fit metal components and parts using hand, power, and machine tools.
- Assemble and install machinery, equipment, and structures by joining components using methods such as welding, brazing, riveting, and bolting.
- Align and adjust machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation and performance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair or maintenance procedures.
- Dismantle and reassemble machinery and equipment as required for repairs or maintenance.
- Test and calibrate machinery and equipment after assembly or repair to ensure they meet specifications.
Electrical Skills:
- Read/interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and manuals for proper wiring.
- Expertise in electrical theory: voltage, current, resistance, power.
- Understand wire types, insulation ratings, ampacity, and voltage ratings.
- Proficient in wiring techniques: routing, termination, connectors.
- Skilled in using electrical tools: strippers, crimpers, multimeters.
- Knowledge of grounding, bonding, and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot/test circuits using meters and testing equipment.
Hydraulic/Pneumatic Skills:
- Read and interpret piping layouts and circuit diagrams
- Understand the required specifications, such as flow rates, pressures, and power requirements.
- Knowledge of component selection (pumps, valves, cylinders, filters, accumulators)
- Component prep (inspection, cleaning, lubrication)
- Mounting and positioning components per design
- Piping/tubing installation using proper techniques
- Component connections following cleanliness protocols
- Fluid filling and air bleeding
- Electrical/control connections and programming
- System testing, adjustment, and leak rectification
- Installing safety devices (relief valves, guards)
- Final inspection and documentation
Work Environment:
- Standing for long periods, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
- Regularly work around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity. The noise level may be loud at times.
