If you are a team player, reliable candidate, and enjoy helping others, Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (HBHH) has an opening for a ECT Mental Health Technician , Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:00 am -3:30pm, this position will report to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), and Assistant Director of Nursing (ACNO).
The Electroconvulsive (ECT) Mental Health Technician performs designated direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of the ECT Registered Nurse (RN) and ECT Manager. The ECT Mental Health Technician will be responsible for arranging all communications and activities related to patient care; participates in development of interdisciplinary treatment plan; follows policies, protocols, techniques, and guidelines;
The ECT Mental Health Technician will also be responsible for:
Pre/Post Procedure
- Responsible for patient escort
- Obtain vital signs and patient sign-in upon arrival
- Ensures proper paperwork (clipboard) is given to patient for completion prior to treatment
- Assists in moving patients to and from procedure room during treatment
- Responsible for stripping/making beds between patients
- Responsible for providing snacks to patient before discharge
- Ensures that patient receives next appointment sheet at discharge
- Assists in answering procedure room phone for patient escort pre procedure
After all treatment for shift is complete
- Responsible for filing paperwork in chart
- Prep paperwork for next treatment day for scheduled patients
- Responsible for patient snack inventory
- Ensures that IV prep trays are stocked for next treatment day
- Ensures that Vital Sign machines are put away and charging
- Responsible for linen inventory
Requirements
Must be 18 years or older, High School graduate or GED required.
Minimum six months experience as a ECT tech or CNA preferred.
Minimum one year of experience in a hospital and/or acute psychiatric setting preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and SAMA.
