Full Job Description
As the Divisional Merchandise Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Merchandisers to drive the creation, execution, and delivery of a customer-first assortment and deliver positive financial results. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the overall merchandise and product strategy across House Brand and 3rd party products to ensure KPIs are met. You will lead the cross-functional team to support merchandise strategies, and closely manage strategic 3rd party partner relationships to deliver the needs of the business. In the medium term, you will lead the strategy to achieve a House brand-dominant merchandise mix.
As the DMM, you will oversee product direction and be a key cross-functional leader across Product, Planning, and selling channels. You will also be a member of the Huckberry Operating Committee and report directly to the Chief Merchandising Officer. **This role is based in Austin, TX. Relocation assistance will be provided to a remote hire
Responsibilities
- Hire, manage, develop, and retain a leading team of Merchandisers across all Categories that Huckberry sells.
- Own and execute the merchandise strategy across house brand and 3rd party product
- Partner with planning and finance to develop and execute financial plans / OTB while maintaining healthy inventory levels that support the needs of the business
- Manage In-Season business, including reacting to business trends, actioning pricing, managing ATS chase and RTV with our 3rd party vendors, and partnering with business channels to execute marketing shifts as necessary
- Oversee 3rd party vendor relationships to guarantee there is brand and product strategy alignment, and assure payment terms, inventory availability, and margin requirements are met
- Drive Preseason buying strategies by partnering with planning on all Merchandise planning activities required to execute both House Brand and Third-Party vendor buys
- Manage seasonal line plans using financial KPIs, trends, benchmarking, and consumer insights
- Collaborate closely with Creative, Brand Marketing, Performance Marketing, and E-commerce teams on key GTM initiatives and product/brand strategies both preseason and in-season
- Work collaboratively with the House Brand product team on house brand assortment
- Oversee product direction with regard to trends, newness, and opportunities
- Lead key cross-functional meetings including quarterly product reviews
- Manage day-to-day functions of the Buying team
Requirements
- 8+ years leading a buying/merchandising team
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience managing a team
- Experience Managing 3rd party buying and Vendor Management.
- Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of retail metrics and OTB process
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to a concise vision
- Strong understanding of the men’s market with a great eye for products and trends
- Thrives on implementing or improving processes, and is flexible within an ambiguous, ever-changing work environment
