Role Overview
Job Title: Director of Training and Education
Location: Austin, TX
Department: Operations > Education
Reports to: VP of Franchise Operations
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
The Director of Training and Development is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs that support the growth and success of Restore’s medical, corporate, and franchise operations, as well as headquarters. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that each area of the business is equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver exceptional service and uphold Restore’s brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing Training Programs: Creating comprehensive training programs that align with the company’s brand standards, operational procedures, and goals.
- Implementing Training Strategies: Execute strategies for training delivery that are scalable, proven to be successful, and can be measured, ensuring that all teams receive consistent and effective training.
- People Leadership: Lead members of the training and education team successfully, ensuring thorough follow up on initiatives, holding team meetings, providing accountability and coaching, documenting key conversations, owning the department road map, providing a culture of continuous growth, and more.
- Creating Training Materials: Designing training manuals, guides, videos, presentations, and other materials to support the training programs and facilitate learning.
- Delivering Training: Conducting training sessions, workshops, seminars, and other educational events for franchisees, managers, lead nurses, estheticians and other employees to impart necessary knowledge and skills.
- Evaluating Training Effectiveness: Assessing the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback, evaluations, and performance metrics, and making adjustments as needed to improve outcomes.
- Managing E-Learning Platforms: Overseeing the development, administration, and maintenance of e-learning platforms and tools, ensuring that they are up to date and accessible to all employees, including training records.
- Supporting Franchisees: Providing ongoing support and guidance to the corporate franchise business coach team and franchisees, serving as subject matter expert on training-related matters and addressing any training-related issues or concerns.
- Collaborating with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, product, marketing, and human resources, to identify training needs, priorities, and opportunities for improvement across the company.
- Ensuring Compliance: Staying current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to training and development, and ensuring that all training programs and materials comply with relevant standards and regulations.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate strong partnerships with external vendors who provide training materials, technology platforms, and other resources to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of training initiatives.
Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, BA, or related field experience.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in developing and delivering scalable and effective training programs within a multi–unit retail or similar environment.
- 3+ years of people management experience.
- Franchise experience strongly preferred.
- Medical training knowledge and experience a strong plus.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing a team of trainers and instructional designers.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and learning management systems (LMS) preferred.
