Position Overview:

They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Tax to join their team in Dallas, Texas. The Director of Tax will play a pivotal role in leading the tax department, providing strategic guidance, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.

● Lead and manage the tax department, including tax planning, compliance, and consulting services for individuals, businesses, and organizations.

● Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes for clients.

● Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, international tax, state and local tax, and tax controversies.

● Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to advise clients and ensure compliance.

● Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and delivering exceptional client service.

● Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing training, guidance, and support to promote professional growth and development. ● Collaborate with other departments and teams within the firm to deliver integrated solutions and support overall business objectives.

● Participate in business development activities, including networking, client meetings, and proposal preparation to acquire new clients and expand services.

Requirements

● Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; Master’s strongly preferred.

● CPA Certification

● Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in general, non specialized tax accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.

● Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

● Experience with tax planning, compliance, and consulting services for individuals, businesses, real estate, trust, foundations and exempt organizations.

● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

● Proven leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

● Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills.

● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

● Proficiency in tax software, CCH ProSystem Tax Software preferred and Microsoft Office Suite.
