Summary
Restore is hiring a full-time Director of Regulatory Compliance to manage the company’s regulatory compliance functions through a mix of working cross-functionally with internal business partners and external counsel to provide practical and commercially focused regulatory advice to support the company’s growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have professional exposure designing and maintaining traditional compliance review, reporting and remediation. 

The ideal candidate will also have professional exposure to business models involving consumer retail or consumer services in a multi-location, multi-state environment, in addition to advising and supporting physician-owned entities.  The Director of Regulatory Compliance will act as a key decision-maker and point-of-contact between the business and external counsel to resolve a range of legal issues.

A successful candidate will have experience managing large-scale, healthcare compliance systems while also having product and operational problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will also have broad exposure working with legal counsel and handling various legal compliance and operational matters. The Director of Regulatory Compliance must have the ability to quickly understand the Company’s business model, ask the right questions, and spot operational gaps and propose improvements.

The Director of Regulatory Compliance will report directly to the General Counsel. Location in Austin, TX preferred, but open to remote with regular travel to Austin.

Responsibilities

  • Support the continued the development, enhancement, and implementation of proactive, effective, scalable, ethics and compliance program related to CPOM, physician-owned entities, telemedicine regulations, medical dispensing laws, and new medical therapies, to ensure best-in-class compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Manage credentialing program and nurse collaboration agreement.
  • Support the continued maintenance of the credentialing program for the Professional Limited Liability Company supporting our medical operations.
  • Advise the company’s leadership on current healthcare regulatory changes and ethics and compliance developments.
  • Assist the General Counsel with assessing enterprise risk and interpreting legislation affecting the business’ service operations.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to implement and maintain employee training and compliance policies.
  • Manage large-scale entity registrations and annual renewals.
  • Monitor studio incidents to track metrics to provide reporting and insights on key risk areas for the Compliance Committee, Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate internal investigations to ensure timely responses to concerns raised and consistent remediation for compliance vulnerabilities and takes corrective action.
  • Work with Human Resources to design and implement compliance training programs for employees.
  • Monitor insurance verification for franchisee insurance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (law degree from an ABA accredited law school is a plus).
  • Corporate paralegal experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare, regulatory compliance experience, with at least 3 years at a reputable national or regional law firm or company.
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise managing an effective compliance program, auditing and monitoring strategies, internal control systems, and investigation standards.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally within a team environment and communicate at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner and provide succinct, practical and result-oriented legal and business advice
  • Highly analytical, data-driven and detail oriented, commercial-minded professional with proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, manage projects, and decisively make sound commercial recommendations
  • Ability to think strategically about complex issues, develop goals and recommendations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite required
  • Jira experience strongly preferred
  • Willingness to learn new software as required for the role
