Range Ward is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead and oversee the daily production and scheduling of our in-house managed grazing products across the USA and Canada. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing agricultural or livestock production operations, with a focus on optimizing schedules, labor and processes, ensuring compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of product quality. The Operations Director will play a pivotal role in coordinating with cross-functional teams, ensuring production to forecast and driving operational efficiency across multiple locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of all production across multiple sites in the USA and Canada.
  • Oversee and become responsible for the efficient fabrication of all Range Ward equipment.
  • Manage facilities and production assets.
  • Work with direct reports to build and distribute product in the USA and Canada
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Ensure all sites comply with standard regulations in both the US and Canada,
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Sales, Marketing, and R&D, to align production goals with overall business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor individuals and teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance data, providing reports to senior leadership and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work with Operations Manager to optimize the supply chain, ensuring timely sourcing of raw materials and delivery of finished products.
  • Oversee the implementation of safety protocols and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, controlling operational costs while meeting production targets.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and techniques to enhance production and sustainability efforts.
  • This position is vital for ensuring the continued growth and success of Range Ward.

Location and Work Environment:

  • This position is located in Hondo, Texas – a small community of approximately 8,000 people located 45 minutes west of San Antonio, and just south of the Texas Hill Country.
  • The Operations Director will work in both the office, warehouse and production facilities as needed.
  • The Operations Director will report directly to the CEO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in agriculture, grazing, or livestock production.
  • Experience managing multi-site operations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in developing and mentoring teams.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, production processes, and quality control.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficient in project management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels creating reports and schedules
  • Willingness to travel as needed to Canada (Must have a valid passport).
