Restore Hyper Wellness is focused on providing therapies to our clients that allow them to look and feel their best while enhancing physical, emotional and cognitive well-being with science-backed therapies, industry-leading doctors and trained experts passionate about results. We are in need of a Human Resources Director with a strong background in HR competencies, customer service, and people management to work in conjunction with the Vice President of Human Resources to oversee several department functions plus training while providing outstanding service to our employees. The person in this role will act as a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to an assigned group in company operations. This role sits on the Leadership team and reports to the VP of HR.

The Director, HR Business partner role is a highly visible and important role within the HR and Training and Education teams as well as throughout the organization. In this role, you will manage team members in both departments, oversee several HR functions, be a business partner to operations and be known throughout Headquarters as the go-to resource for HR needs. This role is hybrid out of our Austin, Texas office in South Austin. Only candidates who can work a consistent hybrid schedule will be considered.
Role Responsibilities
- Quickly learn the Restore business model (retail operations, medical, telemedicine, and wellness therapies) and act as an enthusiastic and well-informed company representative.
- Manage and oversee the daily duties and responsibilities of assigned HR and Training & Education team members who could be working onsite or remotely.
- Ensure all HR Helpdesk tickets are responded to and handled in a timely manner, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Be viewed as the subject matter expert on performance management, employee relations, workers compensation & injuries, company policies, recruiting, company culture and other assigned areas in HR.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments to address people-related concerns, opportunities and wins.
- Take ownership of company HRIS (ADP) and other HR systems, identifying opportunities and areas that may be underutilized and develop expertise in using the system with the ability to patiently train others.
- Act as HRBP to one or more assigned groups within the organization, including the PLLC, Headquarters, and/or Corporate Studios.
- Ensure relationships are effectively managed and that HR is viewed as a respected business partner and change agent. Ensure excellent customer service and resolution of HR inquiries, concerns, and issues.
- Identify processes within HR that require change to continuously ensure appropriate governance, compliance, improvement of business applications, and processes.
- Conduct annual review of all HR related policies and SOPs, to evaluate and implement changes.
- Oversee T&E department initiatives. Ensure an effective flow of trainings, programs and other events that occur in the Hyperformance Training Center take place in an organized and effective manner.
- Ensure that instructional design, manager training and development and other areas of T&E are operating effectively and in conjunction with company OKRs.
- Provide HR operational thought leadership through effective partnership with operations and other departments as needed.
- In conjunction with VP of HR, take ownership of department OKRs, ensuring timely execution of each, triaging and resetting the appropriate timeframe if any become off track, and updating Asana routinely.
Own and manage other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Experience, Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university required, or 10 years of relevant HR experience may be substituted for the degree.
- 8+ Years of deep experience in a progressive Human Resources department
- 5+ Years of Supervisory experience and excellent leadership and team management skills
- Previous experience managing individuals in both training & education and human resources
- Previous experience working in HR in multi-unit wellness, fitness, retail, food and beverage or similar business model
Preferred
- The HR tech stack is: ADP, Workable, Wex, Asana, Jira, Confluence, and more. 4+ Years of relevant experience with these or similar HRMS platforms strongly preferred, or the ability to quickly learn them and scale your experience to be immediately successful in your daily duties.
- Collaborative team player with great interpersonal skills and an exceptional ability to work effectively cross-functionally and within a multi-unit retail environment. Comfortable working in a PE-backed, fast-paced high growth company in its earlier years.
- Executive presence with ability to influence and lead with courage. Strong communication and influencing skills, able to push back on leaders when needed.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage conflicts, through the right balance of assertiveness and people inspiring approach.
- HR data and analytical skills – able to extract data, develop insights. Experienced in Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with complex business challenges, both urgent short-term issues and long-term strategic items. Ability to prioritize effectively.
- Sound HR judgment with ability to advise the HR function to find solutions in various areas of HR – Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Talent Analytics & Insights, Employee Relations, Compensation, Culture & Engagement.
- Leadership strengths in hiring, mentoring, retaining top talent, and fostering a cohesive, high-performing team.
