Full Job Description

LiveNjoy Residential, a dynamic and thriving real estate property management company, is seeking a Corporate Controller for our corporate office in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient internal controls. The role involves managing the accounting team, handling high-level financial reporting and analysis, coordinating budgets, and assisting in financial decision-making processes to optimize the company’s financial performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Analysis and Cash Management:
    • Monitor cash flow, expense control, accounts payable and working capital requirements.
    • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on financial performance, trends, and strategies for improvement.
    • Oversee financial transactions, including billing, payroll, charges, payments, collections, deposits, and refunds.
  2. Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
    • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
    • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
  3. Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
    • Analyze financial data and prepare management reports on financial performance and variances from budgets.
    • Support senior management in strategic planning through financial analysis and forecasting.
  4. Internal Controls and General Ledger Management:
    • Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
    • Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, including account coding and reconciliation of accounts.
    • Ensure accurate and timely closing of accounting periods.
  5. Audit & Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and other financial legislation.
    • Prepare tax filings or assist with tax-related matters as needed.
  6. Team Management:
    • Manage and mentor the accounting staff, providing leadership, support, and development opportunities.
    • Assign and review tasks within the accounting team to ensure accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to improve team performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a management role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, real estate financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting and Real estate transaction software
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

 

Additional Information and Preferred Experience:

  • Multifamily Real Estate experience preferred.
  • Experience with both refinancing and new financing preferred.
  • Experience working with lenders, title and other institutional partners preferred.
  • Hybrid work: 2 days in office (Plano) 3 days remote.
  • Full-Time preferred; Part-Time considered.
