Aethon Energy Operating LLC’s (“Aethon”) Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling various pipelines, plant assets, compressor stations, well site facilities, and production, and works closely with Aethon’s Gas Scheduling, Field Operations, Marketing, and other gas control centers. Responsibilities for this position include making sure deliveries come in on rate and assisting Operations to ensure that our systems are operated efficiently and safely. This position is also responsible for being the first line contact during emergency situations as the Control Center phone number is posted on all company facility signage. This position works a rotating schedule to include both day and night 12-hour shifts.

DUTIES & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor pipeline pressures, SWD’s, field compressor units, well volumes and pressures within their designed criteria, and monitor gas quality at various points

Remote well operations – remote starting and operating based upon pumping by exception policy

Remote plant operations - Increase treating needs as production and marketing demands are changed

Proactive well, pipeline and plant monitoring to find issues before potential downtime events occur

Alarm management and field operator callouts

Production tank monitoring – monitor tank levels and call-in loads based upon alarms and production volumes

Work closely with the various gas scheduling and field operation departments within Aethon to execute all gas volume changes as they are scheduled

First contact in an emergency response situation. Responsibilities include notification of emergency services, operations, and Aethon management.

Work with the field operations to maximize throughput. This includes coordination between the groups during equipment or pipeline outages.

Work with field personnel on basic troubleshooting of communications, SCADA, control valves and other equipment related to gas control and operations

Complete daily throughput reports and other intraday volume and pressure reports along with the daily Gas Control Log, distributing to the appropriate personnel

Participate in daily operations conference calls

Evaluate gas control operational problems and provide recommendations to solve these problems

Provide field operations with initial response to alarm conditions

Requirements

Education & Work Experience:

Associate degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in gas control, pipeline operations or other related field experience directly related to the gas control function

Lease Operating or Operational Control Room experience is preferred

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

Basic knowledge of gas measurement principles and gas hydraulics

Understanding of basic computer applications including Microsoft Excel and Word

SCADA and Cygnet experience is preferred

Personal & Soft Skills:

Strong verbal communication skills together with good interpersonal skills

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Good problem solving and critical thinking skills

Proactive approach to looking at processes and systems to facilitate continuous improvement

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve production related goals

Physical & Other Requirements:

Must be eligible to work in the United States and have a valid driver’s license

Successful candidate will be able to meet company standard background check specific to individual role prior to employment and will be subject to Company Drug & Alcohol Program and DOT requirements

Position is an indoor office position which will require remaining in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time

Ability to work a rotating schedule to include both day and night 12-hour shifts
