Full Job Description
Job Summary: Contractors in this role use their production skills to support Owners on various Owlchemy projects, manage the Owlchemy support pipeline, produce smaller projects like game features or content, along with many other assorted administrative and production tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead teams from a production standpoint: collaborate with stakeholders and teams to articulate requirements/constraints/affordances, effectively prioritize tasks, identify and remove blockers, maintain a schedule and milestones, and maintain ongoing communication on project progress/setbacks/impediments
- Support Owners and Teams through our project management framework, providing resources, information/contexts, and bridging relationships between craft groups and stakeholders
- Champion teams as a servant-leader, and contribute towards the growth and self-actualization of all Owls to own and do their best work
- Utilize Owlchemy task-tracking software (Notion, Trello, Google Suite, Slack, and Jira) to keep teams organized and goals clear, and lead process ceremonies and follow-up including regular triages and retrospective exercises
- Build, maintain, and improve documentation of any team-specific processes / best practices
- Root out and remove impediments to success as they arise; identify bottlenecks, impediments, and other risks affecting release plans and provide proactive solutions
- Be comfortable wearing many hats, and supporting production across a wide spectrum of game, feature, content, and other business initiatives.
- Stay proactive and assist with production support for other small tasks that may appear throughout development
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Clear and proactive communicator with strong technical writing skills across all levels of the organization
- Detail-oriented, thoughtful, and deeply aware of dependencies across systems and schedules
- Highly organized and capable of organizing others
- Humble, with a growth mindset and curiosity for life on the frontiers of VR development
- Great conflict resolution and soft skills, and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Direct experience and practical knowledge around managing the production lifecycle for Unity games/projects
- Ability to interface with our customers for service and support, as needed, on behalf of the company
- Familiarity with task-tracking software (Notion, Trello, JIRA, Basecamp, etc)
- Proficiency with Google Docs and/or Microsoft Office suites
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years experience exhibiting attention to detail and project management capacity (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years experience in game development
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Production experience (managing and maintaining lists of deliverables, timelines, and any alterations thereof over the course of development)
- Appreciation of puns (or at least the ability to groan at them)
