Full Job Description
Under the administrative direction of the City Manager, the principal function of the city’s Content Creator is to support the city’s marketing and promotion efforts by producing creative content to increase citizen engagement and traffic to digital media channels. Graphic design, videography, photography, and social media management are key functions and essential skills for this position.
Requirements
Three years experience in graphic design or videography.
Portfolio of previous works, including graphic designs and storyboard ideas, and produced and edited video projects.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Publisher Outlook, and multiple social media platforms is required.
Proficiency in common software programs, and the ability to take initiative and learn new software applications related to social media, graphic design, and video production, as needed.
Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working on multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and working well with a variety of stakeholders.
The individual must possess excellent video and graphic skills, interpersonal skills, exceptional creative writing skills, and the ability to work autonomously when needed and with a high degree of professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail.
Ability to engage and communicate with state and federal agencies relative to requirements, procedures, and guidelines.
Individuals must be able to communicate effectively with elected and appointed officials, citizens, vendors, contractors, volunteer and civic groups, and other city employees at all levels.
Ability to work unsupervised on a day-to-day basis and make judgment decisions that align with the core principles of the city.
Formal education in art, graphic design, videography, or related field.
An Associate's Degree or similar technical training in graphic design, videography, art, communications, journalism, multimedia, or a related field is recommended.
