Yoakum Community Hospital is seeking a Direcgtor of Clinic Operations to join our busy and thriving medical clinic. This represents a unique opportunity for someone interested in country living in a beautiful, family-friendly community.
Position Summary: Responsible for managing and directing the operations and performance of the rural health clinic.
Nonperformance Requirements: Supervises Clinic support staff. Works cooperatively and effectively with the physicians and mid-level providers as well as all Hospital staff. Represents the Hospital well in all interactions with patients, visitors, and the public.
Yoakum Family Practice has six (6) providers.
- There is one Clinic location with 21 exam rooms and two (2) procedure rooms.
- There are 23 staff members.
- Yoakum, Texas is a small town of approximately 5.800 in South Central Texas and is located under two (2) hours from Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
7+ years of progressive management experience in a private practice or medical group setting required.
Qualification Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with a high workload volume and tight deadlines. Demonstrate teamwork, ethical conduct, and effective communication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the work of all non-physician staff in the clinic.
- Recruit, train, terminate, and conduct performance reviews of non-physician staff.
- Identifiy, recommend, and implement practice needs: staffing, services, equipment, and facilities.
- Physician/management meetings: establish agenda in consultation with physicians/advanced practice providers; prepare data for meeting; contribute to decision-making
- Interpret management reports/explain reports to physicians and advanced practice providers.
- Monitor and modify, as appropriate, processes to enhance quality patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
- Develop and implement operational policies and provide training and development to staff to maximize performance.
- Support and implement organizational technology changes.
- Assist in strategic planning for growth and expansion of services as based on community need.
- Review and approve staff schedules, vacation, and overtime.
- Responsible and accountable for billing and collection activities
- Maintain overhead and collection percentages within best practice industry standards
- Monitor tasking, patient denials, and front end edits to ensure efficiency of revenue cycle management function.
- Assist with practice marketing with patients; referring practices; with local businesses; and industry.
- Conduct monthly clinic staff meetings.
- Comply with federal, state, and local agency guidelines.

- Ensure that all compliance with infection control and safety policies and procedures are monitored and maintained.
- Participate in coordinating physician information for updating credentialing for insurance carriers and contracts.
- Cooperate with financial department staff in conducting analysis, completing reports or other special projects.
- Participate in preparation of the annual operating budget.
- Manage practice within budgetary guidelines.
- Determine economic aspects of equipment, facility, and new service decisions.
- Attend managerial-level and other educational programs.
- Assure all tasks performed are in compliance with related State and Federal guidelines, rules and regulations.
