Full Job Description

Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is to serve as a community resource providing a safe, ethical, and high quality mental health and addictive medicine treatment to individuals and families in need. This is a great opportunity to lead the nursing department in a freestanding 163 bed psychiatric hospital.

Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is recruiting for a Chief Nursing Officer, who can provide high quality patient care services, provide effective communication and relationship building and demonstrate leadership by planning, directing, and monitoring employees behaviors that promote a positive work environment. Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a nursing professional with initiative, flexibility, creativity, and great clinical skills.

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will:

  • Report directly to the CEO
  • Supervision of patient care services; identifies and oversees the operation of the nursing program and services necessary to meet key mental health needs of the community
  • Steer Progressive clinical excellence through staff development
  • Shares responsibility for employee engagement, recruitment, and retention
  • Maintenance of safe and therapeutic milieu; Assumes responsibility in maintaining a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for all patients. Provide nursing care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing staff performance, providing ongoing feedback and coaching
  • Implement company standards of care, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met
  • Create and implement schedule for appropriate staffing pattern
  • Performs related duties as requested.

Requirements

- Bachelor in Nursing (BSN) and Master's of Science degree with emphasis in nursing administration required.

- Current Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse/RN in the state of Texas

- Flexibility

- 3 to 5 years of work experience or equivalent in a Nursing Supervisory Administrative position; freestanding psych facility experience preferred.
