About the Role

The CAD Designer provides computer aided design (CAD) drafting, prepares drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches within an engineering enviornment.

Requirements

We are experts in what we do. You will be too by having the following:

• Associate’s degree in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) or a combination of equivalent experience, preferred.
• 5+ years of experience required
• Advanced knowledge of Cadworx is preferred with Inventor knowledge a plus.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, piping, structural, control systems, instrumentation & electrical systems.
• Experience in skid packages a plus
• Familiarity with ASME, ISA and other standards.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• High degree of attention to detail

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize design and drafting software (Cadworx, AutoCAD, and Inventor) to develop layouts of packaged equipment skids in three-dimensional solid modeling under minimal direction of the Project Engineer.
• Create 3D General Arrangement drawings, Details, Component drawings, fabrication drawings, P&ID’s, PFD’s, schematics, and Piping Isometrics from three dimensional models or in two dimensional drawings along with any other drawings required.
• Create advanced three-dimensional assembly and installation drawings with integrated Bill of Materials (BOM's) from models.
• Work with Project Engineers to ensure completed design demonstrates adherence to good design practices and other identified objectives.
• Examine, formulate recommendations, and present various design alternatives to the Project Engineers.
• Use customer and company standards, specifications and mathematical formulas to develop designs of undefined details.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, and schematics.
• Prepare and update Cadworx specifications
• Maintain catalogs in line with Piping Material specifications (PMS), piping support standards.
• Interface with sub vendor’s shop staff to examine fit up and other issues.
• General 2D drafting support as required.
