Full Job Description
As an FP&A Professional at Steer Health, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and contributing to strategic financial planning. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping duties, month-end close activities, and financial analysis that informs executive decision-making. This role requires a hands-on professional who can move effortlessly between managing detailed bookkeeping tasks and performing high-level financial analysis.
Bookkeeping & Accounting:
- Record and maintain all financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, bill payments, and collections.
- Oversee expense reporting, payroll support, and other routine bookkeeping activities.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and ready for external review.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Develop, maintain, and improve financial models, budgets, and forecasts that guide strategic decision-making.
- Analyze financial results against plans, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Support scenario planning, product line profitability analysis, and investment ROI evaluations.
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that drive business performance.
- Prepare materials and reports for Board meetings, investor presentations, and senior leadership updates.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
3+ years of progressive experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or FP&A roles.
Solid understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
