The Children's Refugee Shelter, in association with Teneo Linguistics Company, seeks a dedicated Bilingual Youth Care Supervisor who is not just adept at their role, but embodies the spirit of care, guidance, and leadership. You'll play a crucial part in shaping our youth care environment, supervising a team of passionate workers, ensuring the well-being of the children, and enhancing the overall quality of care provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive directives and updates from the Youth Care Manager, ensuring a cohesive approach to childcare.
- Supervise assigned on-site Youth Care Worker Staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to each member.
- Maintain a detailed supervisory log for all staff supervised, ensuring that records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Oversee and ensure the appropriate line of sight supervision of children, promoting a safe and nurturing environment.
- Complete required documentation, including daily reports, staff assessments, and any incident reports.
- Foster and maintain a positive peer culture among the youth care staff, encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual respect.
- Participate actively in ongoing meetings, conferences, and training programs, ensuring you're at the forefront of childcare best practices.
- Handle unforeseen challenges and conflicts, employing problem-solving skills, and adapting as necessary.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in social work is preferred. However, 4-8 years of relevant work experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in childcare or direct care with youth.
- At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in youth care settings.
- Demonstrated ability to train, lead, and handle diverse situations and teams.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the capacity to make decisions autonomously when required.
- Bilingual proficiency, especially in Spanish.
