Key Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate direct care services, ensuring each child's well-being, safety, and emotional health.
• Supervise daily routines and activities, ensuring a structured and nurturing environment.
• Act as an advocate for the children, voicing their needs, concerns, and aspirations.
• Embrace the role of an educator, imparting life skills and essential knowledge. For example, guide children in tasks like making beds, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing their personal spaces.
• Ensure that children adhere to basic hygiene protocols, from dressing in clean clothes to practicing regular personal grooming.
• Engage actively with the youth, participating in and facilitating group activities, recreational sessions, and educational programs.
• Continuously monitor the environment to ensure safety and intervene positively in conflicts or issues that might arise.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, sharing insights and feedback to enhance care provision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-high school experience working directly with youth, preferably in care or educational settings.
• Bilingual proficiency, especially in Spanish.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine affinity for working with children.
• Demonstrated ability to handle challenging situations with patience, understanding, and empathy.
• Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed care will be an advantage.
