This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking Full-time Advanced Manufacturing Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day implementation of project activities related to the revitalization of Amarillo College’s advanced manufacturing programs. This position will lead development of new work-based learning course and competency-based curriculum and culturally responsive curriculum for the advanced manufacturing programs. The manager will focus on course redesign, supervising the enhancement of program courses to ensure their alignment with current industry standards, collaborating with target faculty, business, and industry partners, while incorporating I-BEST supplemental instruction into the program courses.
*This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment is contingent on grant's funding.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Math, Business, Instrumentation or Manufacturing), Education, or related field.
Preferred: Master’s degree in a technical field (Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Math, Business, Instrumentation or Manufacturing), Education, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five (5) years of industry experience in manufacturing and experience in budget and personnel management.
Preferred: Teaching experience in K-12 or higher education.
*A Master's degree in the required field may be substituted for two years of required experience.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage funding software, processes, and procedures to meet expenditure and reporting requirements.
- Oversee and coordinate collaboration among target faculty, AC staff, and Business Leadership Councils to revitalize the advanced manufacturing programs.
- Integrate evidence-based practices in course redesign, working as a collaborator and in consultation with subject matter experts (SMEs) on equipment and curriculum design to ensure effectively redesigned courses.
- Collaborate with industry partners to ensure the curriculum aligns with the needs and expectations of employers in the advanced manufacturing sector.
- Assist/support target faculty members to design, update, and refine competency-based curriculum for the advanced manufacturing program.
- Assist in the development of new courses, workshops, and training modules to enhance the overall quality and relevance of the program.
- Work with AC staff to supervise equipping of technical education classrooms/labs and faculty training on equipment.
- Assist/support target faculty in developing new work-based learning courses in collaboration with AC staff.
- Work with Amarillo College staff/faculty to ensure student supports (holistic, supplemental instruction, work-based learning, career development, etc.) are embedded in advanced manufacturing courses.
- Maintain records and assist with project evaluation.
- Monitor achievement of and report project objectives to supervisor.
- Coordinate with Project Director, project staff, and AC faculty/staff to support institutionalization of grant outcomes.
- Oversee pilots of redesigned/new target courses.

- Ability to interpret financial data and assist in preparation of budgets and financial grant reports.

- Ability to stay current with the latest advancements in advanced manufacturing technologies and trends, ensuring that the curriculum reflects industry best practices.

- Ability to identify risks at the outset of a project and develop proper mitigation plans in the event that the risk does, in fact, occur.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.
Working Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
Salary: Amarillo College Pay Grades, Pay grade 13 (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
