Full Job Description

This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Part-Time Administrative Assistant for Panhandle PBS who will be all-in on our mission and who will maintain electronic and printed records and serve in a supporting role for the General Manager as well as members of the station’s development office.

Requirements

EDUCATION

Required: High School Diploma

Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Business or Bookkeeping

EXPERIENCE

Required: Two (2) years of experience in a business environment with experience in financial accounting or bookkeeping best practices, database management, and full computer literacy.

Preferred: Professional experience working in a nonprofit environment with experience in fundraising and working with volunteers.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Development Membership Coordinator in all areas including renewal letters, database management, customer service and support for pledge and membership drives as well as provide support for other fundraisers.
  • Assist Community Engagement Coordinator with project coordination and reporting paperwork.
  • Answer station phone, check phone messages, check the general email in-box for letters, questions, and concerns and return calls as well as respond to letters and emails.
  • Assist Underwriter/Sales Agent by inputting underwriter contracts into the station’s traffic system and generating billing for TV and radio underwriters in a timely manner.
  • Assist General Manager with various reports, filings, and needs as they arise.
  • Collect mail and sort/receive packages and get them to their owners.
  • Assist with hiring new employees by setting up interviews, and organizing paper work for members of the interview committee.  
  • Coordinate food orders and pick up for various department meetings, gatherings, screenings, etc., such as Advisory Council meetings, as well as help set up and clean up after these events. Also responsible for completing UCP for event set up for things happening in studio.

Salary: Amarillo College - Salary Schedules (actx.edu), Pay grade 6 (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.

Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.)

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets).
