Full Job Description

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for adding up all the details of transactions, including amounts, types, project, and

dates. They are responsible for monitoring accounts as well as making sure payments are current by coding documents

according to the department procedures. This person will also ensure accurate data entry into the system. The ideal

candidate thrives in a casual office environment, takes initiative, and enjoys wearing many hats in the office with limited

supervision. This position will be responsible for assisting in processing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, plus

other general administrative duties in support of the Accounting Department and Operations. From day-to-day, you will:



  • Partner and collaborate with other key administrative professional(s) within and outside GAC to seamlessly and professionally facilitate optimal work efficiency with respectful and energizing workplace morale.
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
  • Key data daily of financial transactions in database (Credit Cards, Fuel Cards, etc.).
  • Keep current all accounts to avoid delinquencies (phone, Internet, other utilities, supplier portals, etc.).
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on project activities.
  • Assist AR/AP with billing while adhering to the workflow for each process.
  • Assist AR/AP in resolving discrepancies in billing.
  • Upload Projects to project management system and create billing spreadsheets.
  • Update project management system accurately as billing progresses.
  • Performs other general administrative duties as needed to support the Accounting and Operations Department.
  • Assist in special projects as assigned.
  • Routinely perform a wide variety of support duties.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external teams.
  • Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk
  • Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software (QuickBooks).
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information.
  • A team player capable of cultivating productive working relationships across the Company.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping, AR, AP, and basic accounting procedures
  • Superb time management skills accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for numbers.
  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
  • Data entry and word processing skills
