Full Job Description
This position will serve as a lead on the Purchased Services sourcing team, acting as a subject matter expert in healthcare services contracting, as well as a contract negotiator and program manager. The role supports members in achieving savings through national agreements and aggregated sourcing events for purchased services. This role involves managing a Contract Analyst, developing strategy, and executing initiatives within the Purchased Services Workplan. Multiple ongoing contracting projects will require spend assessments and sourcing expertise, including managing competitive bids and contract negotiations.
What you will do in this role:
- Manage successful Aggregated Sourcing Events, delivering negotiated contracts that meet project deliverables and savings projections.
- Oversee projects, including guidance for contract analysts supporting assigned projects.
- Manage National agreement projects, ensuring timely completion of high-quality service contracts that yield cost savings.
- Understand diverse services industries relevant to healthcare providers.
- Research and analyze vendors for inclusion in RFPs.
- Prepare, distribute, and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Evaluate proposals, develop financial analysis, and present contract recommendations.
- Present contract strategy, validation, and analysis to relevant boards (e.g., nursing, respiratory, supply chain).
- Draft contract language in collaboration with Corporate Legal.
- Negotiate and execute facility/IDN contracts on behalf of members.
- Work with members to ensure successful implementation and conversions of initiatives.
- Collaborate with Purchased Services Contracting directors on reporting, analytics, KPIs, and other processes for each service category.
- Ensure accuracy in spend assessments, scorecards, reports, data, and contract recommendations before presenting to members.
- Provide weekly project updates to the Assistant Vice President.
- Attend off-site meetings as needed.
- Train staff on new policies and processes as required.
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
5 - 7 years of experience in healthcare contracting required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills required.
Strong presentation skills required.
