HEAT is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer at HEAT, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing our groundbreaking remote-sensing device used to detect and measure on-road vehicle emissions. At HEAT, we have developed a one-of-a-kind NASA Spinoff technology that has revolutionized the way vehicle emissions are monitored. Our remote-sensing device is unparalleled in its accuracy and efficiency, allowing us to detect and measure emissions from thousands of vehicles on the road. With our growing client base, we are in need of a skilled Mechanical Engineer to help us meet the demands of our expanding operations.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new features and enhancements for our remote-sensing device
  • Conduct extensive research and analysis to optimize the performance and efficiency of the device
  • Create detailed engineering specifications and documentation for manufacturing and assembly
  • Manage and oversee the prototyping and testing of new components and subsystems
  • Perform rigorous testing and evaluation of the device to ensure it meets quality and performance standards
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures in the manufacturing process
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external partners during the device production and assembly processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in the automotive or environmental industry
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Our preferred candidate should be eager to work with exciting technology in a small company atmosphere. He/she should be very comfortable working in a team in a small business atmosphere while working on multiple projects at a time and should be able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate must be able to wear many different hats and contribute to a range of projects. This job requires over 40% travel both within North America and internationally to perform the emissions testing equipment setup and project management for extended durations.
