Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Health and Safety Professional (Independent Contractor - Part-Time, As Needed, Remote).

Location: Remote (work will be based on eastern time zone)

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Health and Safety Professionals to join our team of independent contractors. This part-time, as-needed position will support clean energy projects being developed by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED). As a contractor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained on various clean energy construction projects across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review Site Safety Plan documentation on clean energy projects.
• Ensure compliance with DOE safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and other applicable safety standards.
• Collaborate with project teams to implement and enforce health and safety policies.
• Identify potential hazards and risks, recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation and reports.

Requirements

• Experience: 10+ years of experience as a Health and Safety professional in the Department of Energy (DOE) sector.
• Certifications: CSP, CHST, or other recognized safety certifications preferred.
• DOE Experience: Must have hands-on experience with health and safety practices on DOE projects.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA, DOE safety regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
• Ability to travel to project sites on an as-needed basis.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.

Work Schedule:

• This is a part-time, as-needed position. Hours will vary depending on project needs and contractor availability.
