Fabrication Operator - Hamilton Kent

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a for Fabrication Operator for our Winchester, TN plant! The successful candidate will operate and run machinery and production lines which are related to equipment for the purposes of pipe production. These activities are to be conducted while ensuring and maximum safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost control to achieve plant goals.

SUMMARY

Ensure that fabricated product meets specified requirements, production equipment is functioning properly, Health and Safety policy is followed.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Trouble shoot machine problems & interact with Maintenance.
• Advise Shift Supervisor on process performance and issues.
• Ensures Quality issues are adhered to (pin holes, splicing, proper count, proper shipping labels, etc.)
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to and if not, report the infractions to the Fabrication lead hand / Shift Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as required by supervision to meet production needs.
• Must be able to meet and maintain company ISO quality and production requirements.
• Follow quality procedures and fill out the production records.
• To follow all company policies and procedures.

HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Comply with Hamilton Kent’s Occupational health and Safety Policy as well as relevant procedure/work instructions/safety rules.
• Follow and enforce location safe rules.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is warn in the work environment.
• Work safely and recognize potential and actual danger in the workplace.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• High school diploma.
• Read write and speak basic English.
• Must be able to use or can be trained on various types of measuring tools related to our gasket manufacturing process.
• Basic problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
• Self-motivated and results driven.
• Effective Communicator.

COMPLEXITY & JUDGEMENT

• Regularly encounters machine & quality problems, which involve trouble shooting. Through prior exposure, experience and established procedures/policies can determine the most appropriate course of action.
• Work involves both routine and non-routine task requiring different and unrelated methods within authorized limits.

CONTACTS

• Interacts daily with Production Supervisor, Fabrication leader and Q.A. Inspector.
• Occasional interaction with Health & Safety Coordinator, Production Manager, and Maintenance.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Incumbent spends 100% of his/her time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of light physical labor. Lifting, pulling, pushing (less than 50 lbs), standing, and walking cover the majority of the work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, and the use of press equipment and sharp blades
• Incumbent understands, respects and adheres to the workplace Health & Safety rules & regulations which are derived from the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
