Role Description:

Haven Birth and Wellness is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to join our team of four other midwives. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding families through home births with a Registered Nurse birth assistant.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Monitoring the laboring woman and her baby throughout labor.
• Providing emotional support and comfort measures during labor and birth.
• Managing any complications that may arise during the home birth.
• Performing newborn assessments and providing immediate postpartum care.
• Ensuring a safe and positive birth experience for the mother and family.
• Conducting prenatal and postpartum appointments in the clinic and homes on scheduled call days.
• Performing practice consultations for prospective clients.

At Haven, we aim for about 14 births per month, ensuring exceptional care and well-being for both clients and midwives. As a Haven midwife, you would be expected to participate in a balanced rotational schedule for clinic and on-call duties, ensuring flexible and supportive coverage. This includes being on call for a pre-determined number of days per month and occasionally serving as a second-call backup.

Requirements

• Certified Nurse Midwife with an AMCB (American Midwifery Certification Board) certification with a valid license to practice and at least 3 years experience as a CNM or in a labor & delivery setting.
• Open-minded and willing to learn about alternative and holistic health practices.
• Empathetic, kind, and able to connect with clients and team members on a personal level. You are passionate about providing personalized care and building strong relationships with clients.
• Relational and warm, fostering a supportive and caring environment.
• A hardworking, committed team player who values collaboration and mutual support.

Midwife salary is dependant on experience.
