Shipping Clerk

General:

Shipping Clerk serves as the front line of shipping /receiving goods for the site. The role sees to it that accurate records are kept of all products received and shipped. The shipping clerk handles updating and providing accurate records of inventory. The position reports to the shipping supervisor w/ primary work schedule of M-F, day shift.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities:

• Schedule shipments and execute logistics for product movement
• Review invoices, ensure inventory is organized and orders are accurately filled
• Prepare / deliver complete shipping documentation
• Track and update the status of shipments vs customer requirements
• Operate warehouse equipment and package items/ products as needed
• Follow-up and correct any shipment/ inventory discrepancies 
• Partner with internal resources to ensure product shipments meet regulatory requirements
• Maintain a safety-first mind-set for self and other members of shipping/ receiving team
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in the shipping and dock areas
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Education:     

• Associates degree or certification in Supply Chain or management field OR equivalent logistics work experience (preferred)

Experience:   

• 2+ years’ experience in shipping / receiving in manufacturing/industrial environment;

•  Food manufacturing warehouse (preferred)

• Proficient with MS Office suite or logistics software, e.g., SAP, CAT2

Skills/Abilities/Attributes:

• 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing /industrial warehouse environment

• Working knowledge & understanding logistics software e.g., SAP, CAT2, (preferred)
• Team player; able to work in fast-paced environment w/ minimum supervision
• Good communication & interpersonal skills; positive face-of-the-company
• Organized, multi-tasker with solid attention to details

Physical Requirements:

• Lift / move up to 40 lbs.; occasionally 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, stoop for prolong periods
• Safely operate motorized equipment to move goods
• Work safely in hot, cold, wet environment e.g., 35-40 / 100 degrees
