Full Job Description

The General Manager will oversee the operational management of our automotive client, ensuring that all departments work efficiently and effectively towards achieving our company's strategic objectives. This role involves developing and implementing business strategies, managing budgets, and enhancing customer service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Growth Initiatives:

  • Drive the strategic planning and execution for plant initiatives and overall company growth.
  • Define and implement strategic goals to align with organizational objectives.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to promote and capitalize on the company’s technologies, systems, products, services, and processes.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Foster a culture of teamwork through coaching, mentoring, training, and talent management.
  • Inspire, motivate, and empower employees to achieve personal and professional success.
  • Performance and Accountability:
  • Cultivate a results-oriented culture by implementing company strategies, driving accountability, and managing performance effectively.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Lead safety initiatives by developing training programs, conducting safety audits, and encouraging employee participation through suggestions and feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal regulations.

Lean Manufacturing and Process Improvement:

  • Implement and promote Lean methodologies to optimize processes and increase efficiency.
  • Establish and sustain visual management systems and structured meeting frameworks.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee inventory management, production scheduling, logistics, and quality assurance processes to meet operational goals.
  • Develop and manage the plant budget, including KPIs, to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Plan production and capacity based on budget forecasts.

Financial and Business Growth:

  • Ensure profitable growth for the plant, achieving measurable goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Prepare and report monthly performance updates to leadership.
  • Develop both short-term and long-term business plans to support sustained growth.
  • Conduct detailed evaluations and analyses to inform decision-making and improve plant performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical, Business Management, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or a related field.
  • Strong experience in operations management, financial acumen, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing teams effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficient in the use of automotive software and tools for management.
  • Knowledge of automotive regulations, safety standards, and customer service best practices.
