ISRI is a leading company in the automotive industry, known for our commitment to safety and environmental sustainability. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced health and safety coordinator join our team. As a health and safety, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health, and safety regulations to create a safe and healthy work environment for our employees. You will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety policies and programs, conducting inspections and audits, and providing training and guidance to employees and management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, evaluate risk, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and management regarding health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Develop and deliver training programs on various health and safety topics, including hazard communication, emergency response, and personal protective equipment.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss events to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities, including incident reports, inspection findings, and training records.
- Coordinate and participate in emergency response drills and ensure preparedness for potential emergencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address health and safety issues and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
- Stay informed about emerging health and safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, auditors, and contractors.
- Participate in internal and external health and safety audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations and develop recommendations for prevention.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Health and Safety management or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience in developing and implementing Health and Safety policies, programs, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to train and educate employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) are preferred.
- Other relevant certifications are a plus
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
