Warehouse/Distribution Manager
Job Summary:
Manage all day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including inventory, receiving, picking, packing, movement of goods throughout the warehouse and outgoing shipments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee, train and develop warehouse team to provide best-in-class service to customers and efficient distribution processes.
· Manage shipping and delivery of product to big box retailers, online retailers and flag dealers.
· Responsible for understanding and complying with routing guides and labeling.
· Responsible for shipping accuracy and the accuracy of all shipping documents by strict adherence to standard operating procedures.
· Meet and exceed customer requirements in regards to vendor scorecard items, including On-Time Delivery, Order Fulfillment Rates, ASN Timeliness and Accuracy.
· Coordinate with freight and LTL providers on shipping and receiving schedules.
· Manage daily plan to exceed expectations for productivity.
· Maintain an organized, clean and safe warehouse environment.
· Ensure all employees are trained and certified on the safe and effective use of all warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.
· Assist in hiring, training and evaluating employees to work productively with a high sense of professionalism, urgency and positive customer service attitude.
· Foster a productive, positive working environment with open communication.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
· 5 to 7 years of warehouse management experience within a high-volume distribution center.
· A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
· Experience with Shipping/Warehouse Management Software implementations and utilization.
· Experience managing and motivating a team of employees.
· Self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on deadlines and objectives.
· Strong interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
· Desire and ability to continuously review and improve processes.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Excel and Word. JD Edwards experience is a plus.
· Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Available to work extended hours as necessary during busy season.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
· Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
