After School / Summer Camp Teachers & Counselors | Metro Columbia
The Sunshine House Early Learning Academy is seeking a After School / Summer Camp Teacher for our schools throughout Columbia and Irmo. We are hiring immediately, and would love to meet you!
Pay rate is $16 to $19 per hour, based on experience & education.

After School Teacher Responsibilities During the School Year:
- Implement our award-winning curriculum in a way that meets each child's unique learning style.
- Foster relationships with children and provide a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Document and share with families the important milestones in a child’s day using our app.
- Encourage and model social behavior and expectations which are developmentally appropriate.
Summer Camp Teacher Responsibilities:
Summer camp staff supervise young campers and make sure they learn and have fun, while staying safe.
- Plan outdoor activities or sports for groups of campers.
- Lead recreational and educational activities, such as swimming or crafting.
- Educate campers through games and explorations.
- Make sure all safety rules are followed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 6 months of experience working in licensed childcare required.
- ECD 101 or coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Energetic and positive personality.
