Full Job Description
ROGERCO, Inc. delivers advanced technology, cybersecurity, communications advisory, and multi-media services and is looking for a talented, seasoned Technical Librarian to join our creative team of artists to support a Navy client. Ideal candidates have an active Secret security clearance and previous communications work experience for the federal government, preferably defense. This position is on-site in Newport, RI. Candidates must also have an active SECRET security clearance and previous experience in multimedia design for the federal government. Contingent upon award of contract
Requirements
- Provide traditional and special library information services to support patrons participating in the digital library portal annual subscription.
- Provide research and reference services to locate and obtain published and unpublished resources via Government, commercial, and free research tools.
- Verify holdings (materials checked out to and/or owned by an employee), validate, and annotate against policy for personnel changing locations or Codes or separating from organization
- Deliver usage statistics and recommendations to the Government for improving the efficiency, cost, and quality of subscription access and tracking associated with databases and journals.
- Research new potential subscription tracking services as they become available to determine whether they would be beneficial and submit to the Government.
- Provide interlibrary loan (ILL) and on-demand library services. These services shall include processing requests for source material, researching locations to obtain said material, filling internal and external requests, tracking requests and checked-out material, and processing returned materials.
- Ship materials back to originators in accordance with the timeframe specified in the individual borrowing library’s policy.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Arts or Sciences, Master’s Degree preferred
· Demonstrated experience managing teams in an engineering and scientific library setting.
· Demonstrated experience with:
- Specialized information sources including the structure, content, and access protocols of electronic databases to produce selected and annotated bibliographies on specific subjects,
- Coordinating outreach events to educate users about new and current recourses available,
- Interpreting, explaining, and applying standards for data collection, management, curation, and accessibility,
- Providing oversight of library staff and coordination of tasking, knowledge of digital rights laws, regulations, copyright, and licensing
- Microsoft Office (SharePoint), Access, Adobe Professional, Drupal and Islandora
