Full Job Description
The Packaging Operator plays a crucial role in the packaging of MDI products at the manufacturing site. This position is responsible for executing packaging operations in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), meeting customer requirements, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The Packaging Operator ensures the safe and efficient execution of duties while maintaining product quality standards to deliver reliable and high-quality packaged MDI products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understanding basics of mechanical machinery and principles of control systems.
- Operating pharmaceutical packaging equipment efficiently to minimize rejections and maximize output while maintaining quality standards.
- Cleaning machines and area during batch-to-batch and product-to-product changeovers.
- Performing operations and preventative maintenance on machines.
- Identifying and assisting in corrective actions for packaging-related issues.
- Ensuring correct status labeling at all stages of the packing line with signature.
- Performing equipment calibrations and maintaining records.
- Conducting line clearance before initiating packaging activities.
- Wearing appropriate PPE as per SOP before starting the process.
- Working individually and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Executing procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
- Completing documents accurately and timely.
- Adhering to cGMPs, compliance/regulatory mandates, and quality requirements.
- Following company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring proper safe use of equipment according to Health & Safety procedures and Equipment Manuals.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Other Responsibilities:
- Maintaining 100% cGMP & Compliance during operation hours.
- Following Departmental SOPs.
- Reporting all issues to the department head or reporting manager.
- Performing daily maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Maintaining discipline in the department.
- Assisting in the training of other employees.
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet manufacturing schedules.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced vocational training or education preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in packaging operations preferred.
- Proficiency in English (Speaking/Reading/Writing).
- Knowledge of fundamental cGMP and regulatory requirements in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Basic understanding of mechanical machinery and control systems.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in team environments.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, including OSHA.
- Strong mathematical and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to do heavy lifting/bending frequently.
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE.
- May be required to wear respiratory devices, such as Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Supplied Air Respirators (SAR).
Training and Safety: All employees undergo various training activities, with periodic new trainings and re-trainings. Adherence to safety, health, and environmental guidelines is mandatory at all times during machine handling.
