About Us
Sullivan Estate Law located in a beautifully renovated Victorian house near Wickford harbor. We specialize in estate planning, elder law, and estate administration. Our firm is known for its warm, collegial atmosphere that feels more like a community than a workplace. With significant growth in recent years, we are thrilled to expand our team by adding a dedicated Associate Attorney. This pivotal role will focus on non-litigation tasks.

About You
Are you an empathetic attorney with at least two years of experience, drawn to estate planning and elder law? Do you approach each client interaction with compassion and a detailed-oriented mindset? If you thrive in both independent and collaborative settings and are seeking long-term career development, you might just be the perfect fit for our Sullivan Estate Law team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Navigate Probate Court appearances and manage both probate and non-probate estate settlements.
  • Prepare estate tax returns across Rhode Island and federal jurisdictions.
  • Facilitate real estate sale closings linked to estate administration, including drafting sales agreements.
  • Utilize tools like WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, and Clio to draft estate planning documents.
  • Lead estate planning meetings with clients from initial consultations to final signings and funding processes.
  • Undertake fiduciary accounting and collaborate with our seasoned attorneys for advanced tax and Medicaid planning training.
  • Assist with Trust funding and coordinate financial assets within comprehensive estate plans.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a law firm setting, particularly in related fields.
  • Licensed to practice law in Rhode Island.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, and Clio preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Robust communication skills and a compassionate approach to client interactions.
