Full Job Description
Working as a key member in a department of three, the coordinator assists the director with identification and collection of delinquent real estate taxes in accordance with established procedures, tax-collection practices, precedents, and any applicable legal standards or regulations. The coordinator also acts on behalf of the director in that person's absence. Essential duties also include daily deposit of tax payments; providing customer service; supporting the process to prepare for and conduct periodic tax sales in compliance with applicable laws; preparing and sending notices; distributing collected taxes to designated parties; supporting judicial sale process, searching for individuals, reviewing title reports; contributing to upset-sale process; preparing sale lists; preparing and sending quarterly tax distributions; preparing and distributing audit reports; and maintaining information.
Requirements
Qualified applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED; and possess two years' work experience involving accounting and math skills; effective interpersonal relations and communications skills (both written and verbal); attention to details and accuracy; experience handling cash; demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality; computer proficiency; ability to set schedules and meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced office with frequent interruptions and dealing with the public; data entry skills; and maintaining confidentiality.
